How this site works:
The Deep Purple Hub is a community of rock fans, live concert enthusiasts, collectors, and traders who come together to celebrate their common love of Deep Purple-the band, the music, the history. However, this is also a larger community serving fans of Deep Purple related groups and artists, as well as other “classic” rock and heavy metal artists such as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Yes, Rush, Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, and many others. Fans keep up with and share the latest news and rumors about their favorite artists, write reviews of albums, live bootlegs, concerts, and dvd’s, and come together to freely and openly share live shows.
We are a community, and a community is only as good and as fun as its members care to make it. Therefore, we expect members, both current and future, to get involved, participate, and contribute in any way you can. If you don’t care to participate and be an active member of our community, we offer open-access areas available to anyone visiting the site. These open-access areas include pages where you can keep up with announcements and news, check out featured artists and get early reviews of new albums, a store where you can show your support for your favorite band or artist by purchasing their official releases, and more.
Visitors:
Thanks for checking us out! Please bookmark us and check back frequently as this site will be updated often. You can check out the latest news and announcements about what’s going on with your favorite artists and inside the Deep Purple Hub site itself. We also have a “Cool New Stuff!” section where you can find previews, reviews, audio samples, and images of upcoming releases as well as details about contests to win free copies. We also have a Deep Purple Hub Store where we make every attempt to stock the newest releases as well as the most complete back catalogues of official releases from selected bands. We also carry rare and limited edition pieces when available, official Deep Purple Hub gear, while making it easy for you to show your support for your favorite artist by purchasing their official releases all in one convenient place.
Members:
First off, we don’t charge membership fees here-membership, although regulated, is absolutely free. However, it is NOT free to run and maintain this site. Besides the webhosting and domain fees, there are many little costs associated with bringing this site to you, providing exclusive interviews, contests for free albums and other releases, previews of upcoming albums, and more. We ask that you consider everything this site provides you, all the live shows you’re able to download here free of charge or trade ratios, and please help support us by donating. Donations are a great way to contribute and participate, regardless of how small or how large, regardless of whether you choose to make a one-time donation or donate a small amount every month-all donations go toward keeping this site online for YOU and your enjoyment. You can donate anywhere you see a PayPal donation button, and your donations are always greatly appreciated!
Members will need a few things to get started here. One is a free program called WinRAR which you can download by going HERE. Since almost all downloads are archived as either .rar or .zip files, you’ll need WinRAR to open them. Most members who regularly engage in uploading and downloading find it beneficial to open a premium account on one or more file-sharing platforms. My suggestion would be to check out Megaupload and Rapidshare. There are others out there, including a really nice and inexpensive one called Cramitin, but Megaupload and Rapidshare tend to be the most commonly used.
We expect all our members to contribute and participate in some fashion. This does not mean you must have live bootlegs to share. We expect that you will share anything you find elsewhere that we don’t have, and to repost anything you’ve downloaded from here that may have since expired. However, participation and contribution can take the form of donations, participation in discussion threads, helping create live bootleg cover art, writing reviews of live bootlegs or new cd’s, dvd’s, books, or concerts you’ve attended. What we DON’T want is lurkers and leechers who hide in the background and download everything in sight without ever saying a word. The more people who get involved, the more shows there will be to share, and the stronger our community will be.
All you need to be a member is the ability to be civil and friendly, the desire to share and participate in the community, and the tools I mentioned above (i.e. WinRAR and possibly an account with a file-sharing service). Try and live by the rule “Give as you would like to be given to,” and have fun!
